Dr. Jeffrey J. Pokorny

Dr. Pokorny moved to the Outer Banks from Harrisburg, PA.  In October 2009, he opened Carolina Coastal Plastic Surgery in Elizabeth City, NC.  He will also see patients at Regional Medical Center in Kitty Hawk.  Dr. Pokorny attended Kent State University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1996.  He then went to medical school at North Eastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine where he was awarded his MD degree.   In 2001,he completed plastic surgery residency at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.  This was followed by a prestigious fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center which he completed in 2002.

Dr. Pokorny is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  He is licensed in five states.  He holds memberships in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, North Carolina Medical Society and the American Medical Association.  He is a Major in the United States Air Force Reserves.  Dr. Pokorny has performed research and published articles in the following professional journals:  Journal of Pediatric Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Annals of Plastic Surgery and Techniques in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery.  He has also been a distinguished speaker at the Saint Louis Area Plastic Surgery Society.
